I, WALTER ALBERT HANNIBAL of Victoria in the Colony of Hongkong, trading as an import and export merchant under the name of W.A.Hanibal & Co., do solemnly, sincerely and truly declare and sny as follows: -
1.
I am the sole partner in the firm of W. A. Han ibal & Co.
2.
In the course of my business I purchase goods from Canton, and for that purpose I have hitherto employed G. E. Huygen of Canton to buy goods upon commission and to ship to Hongkong for me.
3. All such goods are solely bought by the said G. E. Huygen by my orders, and for my account, and the said C. E. Huygen has no interest whatsoever in any goods which are bought by him and shipped to Hongkong for me under my orders, except that he receives from me his buying com- -mission on the purchase price of the said goods.
4. I have no connection whatever with the snid G. E. Huygen except as such buying agent as aforesaid, and I have never at any time received any goods belonging to the said G. E. Huygen.
5: Certain goods are now lying in Hongkong which have been bought by the said G. E. Huygen for me and on my account. The said goods consist of 103 bales of canes, and 250 cases of cassia, and were forwarded from Canton for transhipment at Hongkong to the S. S. "Kiyasaki Karu" for Marseilles. The ones are ordered by Messrs. East- -wood & Holt, Merchmts, of London; and the cascia by H. Eugene Desen of Lyons, France, and none of the said goods are intended for my alien
enemy.
And lastly I make this solem declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the Provisions of the Statutory Declarations ict 1835.
